Oktoberfest 2023 was a blast! Thank you all for joining us. We can’t wait until next year!
Welcome back, all you lederhosen-clad and dirndl-sporting beer lovers! Let’s Oktoberfest once again with steins raised high. Join us for a festive night of craft beer, bountiful food, live music, and more. Dress your best and brush up on your Chicken Dance skills.
Join us in the Festival Field for a German-inspired celebration featuring Sierra Nevada beer and beverages (including our seasonal Oktoberfest Lager), ample fest food (think brats, kraut, pretzels and way more), live music, glass-blowing demos, a Chicken Dance contest, a Flash Your ‘Stache competition, and more!
The 2023 Oktoberfest Extravaganza spans two weekends. The four sessions (Friday 9/29, Saturday 9/30, Friday 10/6, Saturday 10/7) each require separate ticket purchases. Tickets for each day are sold separately, so pick the day(s) that works for you, and come party.
Chicken Dance Contest – Start practicing and come ready to cut a rug (or kick up some bark) during our annual Chicken Dance. For those new to this silliness, learn the Chicken Dance with this awkward instructional video.
Flash your ‘Stache Competition – A good old-fashioned moustache-off. Well, we’re not shaving them off; judges will be circulating to review candidates and to invite finalists to the stage. This year, we welcome attendees to help select winners by joining us for judging at the stage between our Chicken Dance and Stein Hoisting contests.
Stein Hoisting – Join us for this ultimate show of muscle. Competitors will battle to see who can hold a 1-liter stein — filled, of course — for the longest amount of time. Seems simple, right? Sign-ups and semi-finals will take place in the beer garden (look for the stein-hoisting space). The final rounds will take place on the main stage!
Follow these rules and #ProstLikeAPro!
We’re working with public health departments to ensure a safe Oktoberfest. These measures are similar those currently in place in our Chico Taproom. Some notable measures include:
Yes! Alongside the beer, we’re pouring our Strainge Beast Hard Kombucha Ginger, Lemon & Hibiscus. (Strainge Beast Hard Kombucha is gluten free and vegan friendly.) We also have complimentary water, iced tea, and lemonade.
Tickets can only be purchased online.
Each transaction is limited to six tickets.
There are two options:
Absolutely, time to start practicing! Don’t be a turkey, learn how to chicken dance! Or, if you’re more of a visual learner, here is an awkward instructional video.
Traditional dress is encouraged, but not required. Lederhosen and dirndls are highly recommended! You don’t need to get fancy, just have fun with it!
Directly following the Chicken Dance contest will be a moustache-off. Well, we’re not shaving them off; just come up toward the stage and show them off. The winners will take home two tickets to next years Oktoberfest!
Sorry, no one under 21 will be admitted, regardless of how far under 21 they are…but congrats on the new addition to the family. May we suggest a parents’ night out?!
At the bottom of the Eventbrite page, you’ll find a contact the organizer button. Shoot us a message and give us a couple days to get back to you. We’ll get you taken care of; we’re here to help!
Due to the high volume of tickets sold at this event, we will not administer exchanges. We encourage you to find a friend to go in your place and purchase a ticket for the desired date you wish to come.
Unfortunately, we will not issue general refunds. However, we will provide exceptions to our No-Refunds Policy for those experiencing symptoms consistent with COVID-19, who have recently tested positive for or who have been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19. Please contact [email protected] with the following information –
Tickets must not be redeemed and refund requests will be accepted up to 48 hours following the event. Refunds may be processed after the festival.
Well, we’d like to, but we can’t. Legally, we have to make sure everyone inside the event is over 21. Bring your passport or any other government issued photo ID and you’ll be good to go!
PLEASE DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE. Really, we can’t stress this enough. If you overindulge, leave your car and come back for it the next day. Take the free (!) shuttle or a taxi; you’ll make some new friends and keep everyone safe.
PLEASE FEST RESPONSIBLY!

Don’t drink and drive. Really, we can’t stress this enough. If you overindulge, leave your car or bike overnight and come back for it the next day. Take the free shuttle or a taxi; you’ll make some new friends and keep everyone safe. There is No Parking on site at Sierra Nevada! Parking and shuttle information are subject to change.
We are pleased to offer these options for getting to Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest.
From Downtown Chico — the shuttle will run on a continuous loop on Friday and Saturday from 4:30-11:00 p.m. Pick up and drop off are at the transit center across from Madison Bear Garden. This is the ideal option for those seeking post-fest fun.
Chico Velo is offering complimentary bike valet services and there is plentiful bike parking at the brewery! We don’t advocate drinking and riding your bike, though.
No driving, door-to-door service and you can make a friend along the way. Ride-share and private car drop–off/pick–up are encouraged, with a special area in our solar parking lot, close to the event entrance.
Complimentary parking is available at the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds, which is a short walk to the brewery, or you can take the shuttle that will run back and forth from 4:30-11:00 p.m. If you need to, you can leave your car overnight at the fairgrounds and pick it up the next day.
